Attendant was very nice and it was a nice clean facility.
The ownership of the plaza (same family for the last 40+ years) has not kept up their establishments well, especially the outsides of buildings and the parking lot. This area has deteriorated quite a bit from when I was a child, and the buildings can't seem to keep consistent tenants with quality like it did with the old IGA and famous local bakery. It's a shame that when describing where I live, I purposefully try to avoid describing it as near Cherokee Plaza, when that used to mean something positive years ago. Hopefully as more families move to Independence and demand nicer facilities, the family of this owner will persuade them to add value back into what could be a high traffic area. Also, the totem pole is a bit of a cultural appropriation and not at all consistent with the area's history or the family.
Will not ever go back tried to rent a U-Haul from there and was quoted one price then it was another price and then that price went up and then the other price went up so we'll never be back
